As of this writing (July 2010) it will not build on fulvia or mark: these are Solaris machines not configured the right way to build Sage: they need to use gcc combined with the Sun linker, and they also need GNU tar and GNU make available, called "tar" and "make" respectively, and first in your PATH. Here is information about the skynet machines. For the linux boxes, this was obtained using the script at http://trac.sagemath.org/sage_trac/ticket/8048.
