Symbolic Computation in Differential Algebra and Special Functions

The aim of this workshop is to bring differential algebra, special functions and symbolic computation communities together, and generate some interest to improve the facilities provided by Sage to support research in these fields.

Besides mathematical talks and coding sprints, there will also be introductory tutorials on Sage, Python and related topics, including development in Sage. The workshop will be accessible to researchers at all levels. Especially those looking for an opportunity to start learning / using Sage are welcome.

Financial Support

We have some funding to offer support for accommodation and in limited cases travel expenses to participants from the European Community Member States (except Austria) and Associated States, i.e., Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Turkey, Iceland, Israel, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland.

Accommodation for participants receiving financial support will be in shared double rooms at the Hotel Sommerhaus in Hagenberg, within walking distance to RISC where the workshop will take place.

Registration

A web interface will be available for registration through the RISC Summer 2010 pages at the beginning of April 2010. You will also be able to book hotel rooms in Hagenberg during registration.

There will be a registration fee of 40 Euros.

Feel free to email the organizers beforehand if you intend to participate in the workshop. We will also post a notice to the mailing list once the registration is open.

How to reach RISC.

Accommodation

  • at Hagenberg: With registration we will offer the option to reserve rooms at the Hotel Sommerhaus in Hagenberg. These good quality rooms with Internet access are reasonably priced and 5 minutes walking distance from the workshop venue. Prices will be available later.

  • at Linz: For those who prefer to stay in Linz, we refer to the list of hotels in Linz for individual booking. For commuting to Hagenberg, see the information on public transportation. (From the center of Linz to Hagenberg it takes about 25 minutes by car.)
